UniUSA has announced Sports Reach Basketball will represent the USA in Men’s 3v3 Basketball at the 2026 FISU Americas Cup in Tegucigalpa, Honduras taking place May 17-29. The tournament, held every two years, is the qualifier for the FISU 3×3 World Cup which will be held in 2027 in China. The top two teams from the Americas Cup will qualify for the 2027 FISU World Cup, featuring over 125 student-athletes from 30+ Central and South America countries. The U.S. will be represented by two teams made up of players from Yale and Harvard, the Ivy League’s top teams this past season.

About Sports Reach

Founded in 1986, Sports Reach provides university athletes with opportunities for international mission work through sports. The Team USA roster will include two four man teams from Harvard and Yale Universities.  Their tour will run from May 17-29, 2026, beginning with a five-day training camp to prepare for competition, mission work, and cultural exchange. While in Honduras, the team will compete against 14 teams from 33 countries from Central and South America. They will build new relationships and experience new cultures.

Player Selection & Coaching Staff

Sports Reach has recruited college-level players (ages 18-25) who can excel in 3v3 basketball and can serve as Christian ambassadors. The roster will be released soon.

The men’s team will be led by Head Coach Kelly Combs, who has 18 years of college coaching experience and 19 years of international coaching experience. In November 2024, he led the USA Men’s Basketball team to a gold medal at the FISU America Games in Colombia. He also coached and led the 3×3 USA Team to the Championship game at the 2025 FISU World University Games in Germany.

Coach Combs shared his excitement:

“Representing the USA at the 2025 World University Games was an incredible opportunity and I am excited to be asked to coach the USA Team again for the 2026 FISU Americas Cup. These young men will gain international playing experience, build friendships, and grow personally. Sports creates unique connections, allowing athletes to engage with future leaders from around the world. This will be a life-changing experience for all involved.”

Administration & Coaching Staff

Noah Harvey, an assistant coach at Live Oak Classical, will serve as assistant coach. Carl Lanham from Nations of Coaches will serve as Life Coach and Discipler. He has participated in this role on multiple Sports Reach tours. Kevin Combs will serve as Team Video and Photographer. Britton Landrum will serve as Sports Information Director and Administrative Assistant.
