From April 21 to May 1, I traveled to the Philippines to conduct basketball camps and play in a few games. This was my third time visiting—the first being in 2019 and the second in 2023. Because I had already established contacts from previous trips, I felt confident in the work we could accomplish, even though I was traveling alone.

My primary contact was Arnold, a Filipino sports ministry leader. He had arranged locations for us to host camps in Baguio City, a remote village in Nueva Vizcaya, and Metro Manila. Alongside Arnold, we were joined by three of his brothers—Arman, Andre, and Alexander. I had met Arman and Andre before; they helped with translation and demonstration. Alex served as our photographer and videographer.

We were also supported by Jerrick and Eric, two disciples of Arnold from the village who are being trained as future sports ministers. Additionally, we had help from Pastor Joel and his son Tom, who are beginning a sports ministry in Vietnam. They joined us to observe our ministry model and explore the possibility of implementing a similar approach in their own country.

During this trip, we conducted eight camp sessions, played two games, and distributed 50 pounds of clothing and 50 basketballs. We met numerous pastors, missionaries, and coaches, many of whom Arnold will be able to follow up with in the future. In total, we had the opportunity to share the Gospel message with around 200 individuals.

It was an incredible week—to witness all that Arnold is doing and to be a blessing to him and those he ministers to. I look forward to returning again in the future!
