In July, our Sports Reach Team headed South to Gainesville, Florida, to minister in (4) four prisons.  We had an incredible weekend behind the razor wire.  We had great weather all weekend, which was perfect for playing softball and having fellowship with inmates.  Everyone had a great weekend and all of the guards and administrators at each facility were all great, very kind, and very easy to work with.

On Day 1, we had a fantastic time playing softball and sharing Christ with inmates at Putnam Correctional Facility.  While playing softball and interacting with the inmates, we got to share the Gospel with at least 200 inmates and guards, and by the end of the day (6) men had given their lives to Christ.  We got (6) new brothers in Christ, and that is what it is all about! What a blessing getting to play the game that you love, and talk about the One you love.  All in all, it was a great day to be behind the razor wire.   Praise the Lord, To God Be the Glory, Great Things He Did!!!

On Day 2, we were at Marion Correctional, and again, we had a great day.  We had a great time playing softball and spent a lot of our day encouraging brothers in Christ, doing discipleship with inmates, and having just a great time of fellowship with the inmates.  On this particular day, our Team just happened to be on point because we hit one home run after another, and in one inning, we even batted around (3) times.  We were able to share with about 125 men, and they heard the Gospel and were encouraged all day long.  We went, we played softball, we fellowshipped, we shared, and it was a great day serving the Lord behind the razor wire.

On day 3, we were at Madison Correctional Facility and were very blessed to see some old friends and to make some new friends.  We got to play a lot of softball and had a lot of great one-on-one spiritual conversations.  We encouraged many Brothers in Christ, got to share with at least 200 men, and by the end of the day (2) men had prayed to receive Christ.  PTL!!! Glory Hallelujah!!!

Day 4 was our final day. We spent half a day at Hamilton Correctional Facility, and we had yet another great time playing softball and fellowshipping with the inmates. We saw many old friends and made some new friends. We had lots of great one-on-one spiritual conversations, got to share in front of 75-100 men, and by noon (15), men had prayed to receive Christ. PTL!!!

Overall this was a fantastic trip. What a joy it is to get to serve the Lord and to minister behind the razor wire.  Our next trip is to Kentucky to play in (2) Prisons, and we will end the year in November by getting to go to the Miami area and play in (3) Prisons down there.  Please be in prayer for us as we go.  I am so grateful for all of the people who use their time and resources to be a part of our Softball Prison Ministry.
