The 11U Sports Reach baseball team is coming off of a great week in Myrtle Beach where the boys just won the USSSA National Championship! The team played seven games in seven days going 2-3 in pool play and winning both tournament games to be named the 11U Champions. Although those awards and a championship are great successes and show a lot of hard work being paid off, what made the trip equally as successful was the opportunity the team had to share about The Gospel with all seven teams. Sports Reach players and coaches realize that it’s about more than just winning games. 

 “We try to make sure that they understand that what they’re learning is more than baseball,” said Dusty Martin, head coach of the 11U Sports Reach baseball team, “It’s more about life and how to work together as a team and sacrificing the ‘me’ for ‘we’”. The kids have matured a lot and understand the fact that they do better when they forget about themselves and play for the team.”

The team still has plenty of games left to round out the summer and fall season, playing basically every other weekend from now until the end of October. As they continue to compete and share Christ with their opponents and fans, please be praying for them in these ways:

• That they can play to the best of their abilities in a way that is pleasing to the Lord.
• That they will play in a way that leads others to Christ so people may get to know Him.
