18U USFA CHAMPIONS

Panama City Beach, Florida; July 24th — It was nearly 3 A.M when the 18U Sports Reach Fastpitch team had finished their 2010 summer campaign with a decisive 10-4 victory over a resilient Oklahoma Rage team to capture the United States Fastpitch Association championship.  The team was tested early in bracket play when they faced the St. Louis Nemesis and showed their own resiliency with a hard fought extra-inning win. They again to call on their will to “finish with a win” to hold off a tough Alabama Fear Factor team in another extra-inning game and to advance to the Winner’s Bracket Final.

Sports Reach finished with an overall record of 8-1 in the event, with the lone loss coming at the hands of the same Oklahoma Rage team in the first game of the championship “Diamond Bracket” finals. Sports Reach held the advantage after their initial victory in the winner’s bracket finale had sent the team from Oklahoma into the lower bracket forcing them to play their way back into contention before ultimately giving way to a Sports Reach team that featured outstanding pitching, defensive and offensive performances throughout the tourney in what was a total team effort throughout the tournament.

For all those involved and for all those that watched, it was truly a blessing to see it all come together at the end for God’s Glory!

The team will now finish out the 2010 campaign with late-summer/fall tournaments and exposure events with some new faces as some of the current roster will soon begin and continue their college student-athlete careers.
